I love Kade in his little uniform! He was very excited for his first day. Since he has figured out the potty, I can send him with ease, and know he is most likely not going to "dropout" this year:) We did have a wonderful week of driving, back and forth to school. There school being a 30 minute drive one way....ick. And of course I get the stomach flu Tuesday night. Oh, I was so sick. Brian stayed home Wednesday and drove basically all day back and forth. He did the laundry, kept the kids entertained, and took care of his sickly wife...what a good husband! Friday, August 21, 2009

AMEN!!
I can't even begin to explain the joy I have right now!! I'll try. For an solid year(really to the day almost) Kade has had an issue pooping in the potty. Totally fine with peeing. But he must have had a bad experience, because it went from going to the bathroom was a chore, to nonexistent. He started holding it in. I can't even imagine how uncomfortable that would be, but he did it. For days. We tried everything. We would bribe him, ignore him, scold him, sit on the toilet with him, sing songs, read books(Everyone Poops...know it by heart), treats, toys, flax seed,....you name it. If I forgot to mention something I'm sure we tried it.
We finally just said screw it, lets not even talk about it or do anything. If he poops then he does, if he wants help he'll come to us. We put some pull-ups on him and went about our summer pretty care free. Poop filled, but carefree. Then we just decided enough time had passed and the stress was gone(on his side and ours) and sat him on the toilet. We gave him his Gameboy and said, just try. And he went...a lot. I was so excited, but didn't want to get my hopes up. But he has now gone 2 more times, no screaming, no crying...just did it!!!
He told Brian tonight after going, "that wasn't that hard".
If there has been anything that has tested Brian and mines patience its been this. We struggled, trying to do what was right, not ever sure if what we were doing was right. But to hear him say "that wasn't that hard" makes me want to cry...for 2 reasons.
1-of course being so overwhelmingly happy he finally gets it.
And 2-because it took a year for the smartest little kid to FINALLY GET IT.
But he has!! And just in time for pre-school on Monday:) AMEN!

WTH?
Only in downtown SLC (or hippie ville) would you find this. I love the van as much as the BIG SILVER JEWELED BALL on top?? What is that, a spaceship, a weather ball? I love it.
