So if you haven't read the first part of the story...scroll down and read Where to begin??
Now its March 4Th(Thursday):
The vet stitches Haley up, and puts drainage tubes at the site of the wound(it looked like 2 plastic straws dangling out of her skin...gross). And of course a cone. Poor girl :( I wont bore you with the details of the bill, but it was not pretty.
At this time the vet is not overly concerned with the fact that Nelson is not interested in food or drinking. The vet says to watch Nelson, and if by Saturday he hasn't improved we will need to do blood work and a x-ray(money, money, money).
Brian gets home from the vet, just in time to take Kade to school and me to go off to surgery(another post to soon come...and I have pictures)
I had dog on the brain so I wasn't as nervous about my surgery, which helped. But returning from surgery and not sleeping one second again(for the second night) I had Brian take Nelson in Friday morning. This is where the story gets irritating. Blood work....fine. X-ray...fine. What the hell Nelson??? So they examine him closer and find that he seems to be in pain in his abdomen. So he must have a bacteria, and a gas bubble. There is no real way to know how he got the bacteria, maybe outside, maybe from food. So after all the tests, the vet puts him on a antibiotic.
Saturday morning Nelson wakes up, and is fine. No joke. We call the vet, the vet says "yea!" Nelson responded to the antibiotics, so it was something bacteria related...go on about your day. Oh, but see you tomorrow to remove the gross tubes hanging from inside Haley.
So Nelson is all back to normal. Haley still has stitches....but the tubes are gone. I am still amazed at the amount of money we spent on the 2 of them, its disgusting. And my days are spent training Nelson to stay away from Haley and training Haley to stop picking fights...(she does).
And that's the end of the dog story....stay tuned for the surgery pics:)
