Wednesday March 3rd: Suckiest day ever.
It began like all days...me trying to get up out of bed. I opened my bedroom door, and the dogs(plural) had pooped and peed all over the place. What a wonderful way to wake up. In the middle of cleaning up the pee, Nelson starts puking. He pukes up a ball. Like the size of a tennis ball, and fully intact. Wonderful, something else to clean up. I walk downstairs, and there lies Haley puke. How do I know it was Haley puke you ask?? Well...Haley pukes often, and its usually just bile. And for those dog owners out there you know, dog bile is NOT easy to get up out of carpet.
So on with my day. Get Kade ready, take him to school. Nelson comes with me in the car(as always) and he pukes again. Nelson is a special dog...meaning...he cleans up his own puke. Well, not this time. And then he pukes again. It was a very lovely smell. For those of you that don't know, I drive 2 hours each day to take my kids to school, so the smell of puke for an hour is a bit much. At this point I am ready to sell the dogs. But I deal. Come home, clean up the car, and get in the shower. While blow drying my hair the dogs break out in a fight. A bad fight. They are not listening to me to stop, I'm scared to get in the middle of it. It ended with Nelson bleeding. Haley had bit his foot. Great. So now I get to clean up blood. Nelson was acting really weird. He wouldn't do anything. I was worried, but I needed to get to work, so in the kennel Nelson goes.
Well, Nelson wouldn't eat dinner that night, or drink water. Very unlike him. I had a thought run through my mind that I had gotten Kades flintstone vitamin for him, and usually that is waiting on the table for him. So I go into a panic that Nelson got ahold of the flintstone vitamin, and that is why he is acting like a weirdo. I do some research online....not so good for a dog to have vitamins. So we call animal poison control...you can get an answer if the "thing" they have taken is bad for them for 65 dollars. Ripoff. So in the middle of the night Brian takes Nelson to the ER vet. 150 dollars later...go to your vet in the morning and get some blood work done, here are some anti nausea meds. Ripoff.
I did not sleep even a little(oh, and I'm scheduled for surgery the next day). We wake up to find blood all over the comforter....not from Nelson. Haley has a huge hole on her chest. We (mostly me) being so worried about Nelson and his strange behavior didn't even check Haley over after the fight. So its 8 in the morning(day of my surgery) and Brian is off to the vet, with both dogs. Story to be continued........................
